Chiral sensing and racemate resolution are critical requirements in industries which manufacture and use drugs and chemicals that are chiral. Chiral luminogens which show strong solid state emission, and possibly CPL, provide a sensitive approach for chiral recognition and quantitative analysis of enantiomeric structures. Designing novel chiral luminogens that are easy to synthesize in a few steps with low cost and show efficient fluorescence will enable highly selective enantioselective sensing which could even be expanded to commercial applications.
